Marcella Lally is a Kansas City-based artist and sculptor. She has a long history of working with botanicals and florals, which has led her to create her distinctive art. A sculptor by trade, her current body of work focuses on nature and the passage of time with themes of mortality and rebirth. Her assemblages incorporate hand-sculpted ceramic flowers and other tokens of vintage ephemera arranged on animal skulls. She calls them portraits on nature, each one adorned specifically to create its unique narrative. Inspired by the changing of the seasons and the circle of life Marcella’s art is a reflection of her curiosity and need to be a part of nature.
Marcy created this piece using a cow skull as the base and adorning it with her sculpted sunflower using porcelain clay. A true statement piece. Hangs with an included shaped L bracket.
