Joe Gordon

leatherwork

Joe Gordon was born and raised in Michigan and relocated to middle Tennessee in 1989. A lifetime motorcycle enthusiast, Joe has always had a strong eye for detail and an interest in various art forms. He started with pen and ink sketches, and then moved to painting custom motorcycles and canvases with acrylics and oils. Joe also explored woodworking, creating everything from walking sticks to two-room cabins.

Upon discovering leather crafting, Joe found his true passion. Since retiring, he has honed his self-taught skills, creating unique heirloom pieces. Joe is not a fan of mass-produced products and takes pride in his one-of-a-kind creations. Joe’s  leather crafting journey began with simple projects, but he quickly advanced to more complex designs. He meticulously selects high-quality leather and uses traditional techniques to create each piece. Joe’s dedication to his craft is evident in the attention to detail and the care he puts into every item. He often spends hours on a single piece, ensuring it meets his high standards of quality and craftsmanship. He finds “tooling” leather challenging but personally rewarding and is always eager to share his excitement and products with others.
