What about the name?
The Copper Fox Gallery resides in a historic home that has inhabited the Leiper’s Fork village since 1888. Prior to the gallery’s inception in 2012, the building was carefully renovated and crowned with a shimmering copper roof; thus, The Copper Fox was born.
ABOUT OUR ARTISTS
The Copper Fox plays host to artwork from over 90 unique artists, the majority of whom are based here in Tennessee, as well as 11 neighboring states. Because each artist’s experience varies, we find it fascinating to witness the translation of their background into each specific discipline and the resulting artistic expressions. While every artist we support is dedicated to their craft, some have come into this dedication via study and schooling, while others have found their way from an inner calling. You can see these expressions, their stories, and their immense energy in the art they each create.
OUR ARTISTIC APPROACH
The sincere representation of our artists is our top priority, and as such, we aim to work with each and every artist on both a professional and personal level. Not only does this involve visiting their studios to better understand their story, their process, and their artwork as a whole, but it also means protecting their work once it arrives in our space. Through quality display and intentional marketing, we strive to act as honorable stewards for our talented artists while providing a comfortable and refreshing place to find high-quality, original artwork.
ABOUT THE OWNERS
Hi there! We’re John and Talbott Grimm, owners of The Copper Fox Gallery. We moved into Leiper’s Fork in 2014 and were immediately taken with the charming gallery topped with a copper roof. Living just around the corner, we enjoyed stopping by The Copper Fox regularly, and before long Talbott became the gallery manager. With a background in both art and retail, the role was a natural fit. Soon John decided to join in on the fun, and in September of 2016 we purchased the gallery from our friends David and Lisa Fox who had the creative vision to open the gallery in 2012.
Since day 1, we have worked to breathe our own vibrance into this beloved space, instilling our love for quality artwork and genuine service into every aspect of the business. Welcoming, knowledgeable, and very hands-on with the selection of each piece, we would be delighted to help you find something that stirs you.
