Originally from Holladay, Tennessee, Franklin resident Doc Holladay has been voted among the top three singer/songwriters in Nashville 4 years running in the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Nashville Scene “Best Of Nashville” readers poll, and has become one of the most in-demand talents around, while also managing to work as a full time Optometrist.
In addition, Doc has also been in high demand as a producer lately, with a particular focus on vocal production. He routinely plays at the famous Bluebird Cafe, Puckett’s, corporate events, and also finds time to share his stories, music and recovery experiences at numerous drug and alcohol treatment centers.
Not one to be restrained to just one avenue of creative expression, Doc has recently been producing a unique collection of art/functional art utilizing copper/copper patinas and antique woods, including everything from wall hanging pieces and serving trays to building one of a kind guitars and guitar parts utilizing these same mediums. With a guiding principle of “nature is the greatest artist”, Doc strives to allow natural processes to point the direction for which each piece should go, making each quite literally, a one of a kind item.
